I am sitting with two elders, witnessing them get to know each other, slowly, intentionally.
Between them are decades of professional experience. Careers built, decisions made, teams led, problems solved. Successes, disappointments, pivots, and all the lessons that never make it onto a resume.
And now, in their retirement years, they are traveling, learning, still expanding their horizons.
From that vantage point, they want to get to know each other.
A question opens another question. One story pulls forward another. They compare notes across industries, generations, and lives. Issues of the heart.
I find myself thinking about how much wisdom can accumulate across a working life, and how beautiful it is to watch that wisdom stay alive, generous, and curious.
