This simple heart coherence breathwork practice fosters a deep sense of connection, peace, and inner harmony. Heart coherence is a state where your heart, mind, and emotions are aligned and working together harmoniously. It is characterized by a smooth, regular heart rate pattern, which is associated with feelings of calmness, clarity, and overall well-being.
Simple Heart Coherence Breathwork Practice
1. Inhale into the belly
- Breathe into your belly, freely filling your belly with the breath.
- Keep inhaling and feel that your ‘lifting’ the breath upwards, into your solar plexus and then all the way into your heart.
- Fill your chest with breath, allowing your chest cavity to lift.
2. Exhale in all directions
- Now picture the breath expanding beyond you, overflowing the body and expanding out around it.
- Continue exhaling, emptying the chest, then deflating your belly.
- Feel your whole system in unison and sit in the middle of that expansive feeling.
3. Inhale from all directions
- Inhale deeply again from all directions, filling your belly, chest, and lungs.
- Expanding with the breath beyond your body.
4. Exhale fully in every direction
- Let your exhalation again be complete so that every last bit of breath is expelled from the lungs.
Repeat for a few more cycles.
Even a couple of minutes of regular practice can lead to significant improvements in emotional and energetic balance, help reset the fight, flight or fright response in the nervous system. and overall enhance your well-being in the workplace or at home.
