At Courageous Being, we teach Stop Ghosting Yourself: Assess and Address, a practice for radical honesty that helps you reconnect with your authentic self. Ghosting yourself happens when you ignore your inner voice—your intuition, essence, or true needs. Over time, this self-abandonment leaves you feeling stuck and out of alignment.

Recently, at our Pacific NW 3-day retreat, we explored how to stop ghosting ourselves. Participants identified which of these four areas they struggled with most:

  1. Tuning In – Noticing what’s really coming up for you.
  2. Self-Regulation – Staying calm and steady, not spiraling.
  3. Self-Compassion – Choosing kindness over self-criticism.
  4. Positive Action – Taking clear, aligned steps forward.

Some women easily tuned in but avoided action, while others acted quickly but struggled with self-regulation. The insights were transformative.

Your Turn: Stop Ghosting Yourself

We invite you to try the Assess and Address process right now. Here’s how:

  1. Pause and Reflect
Breathe and ask yourself: Where in my life am I ghosting myself? Listen for the honest answer.
  2. Assess Yourself
Look at the four circles in the image above. Which one feels most challenging for you right now?
    • Is it hard to tune in and notice what’s coming up?
    • Do you struggle with staying emotionally steady?
    • Are you unkind to yourself when things go wrong?
    • Do you resist taking aligned, positive action?
  3. Address the Challenge
Once you identify the area, ask yourself: What’s one small, loving step I can take to strengthen this part of me?

Where are you struggling most? We are here to help you address the challenge and stop ghosting yourself once and for all.
